Playoff game:
In what was  to this eye witness's most exciting Senior playoff in 
memory the #2 seed Blue & Gold squeaked out a win over division 
champions, Meyers Meighan. But that is only half the story. Each game 
played was a thrill packed adventure. At the 6pm game the #4 seed 
Nats held of upstart Union Jacks with a run in the bottom of the last 
inning to emerge victoriuos by a score of 7-6. Not to be outdone, the 
7pm game featured a tie after regulation, between the #3 seed Stylers 
and the #2 seed, Blue 7 Gold. The Stylers scored 3 times in the top 
of the 8th, only to see Blue & Gold edge them with a "walk off", walk 
in the one-pitch extra inning format. The final score was 10-9. This 
set the stage for The #4 seed Nats and the #1 seed Meyers Meighan. 
Meyers Meighan seemed to have the game in hand until the Nats scored 
3 runs in the top of the 7th to tie the score at 7 apiece. Another 
one-pitch extra inning saw Meyers Meighan eek out an 8-7 win. It was 
now 9:45 pm and the championship game was about to begin between #2 
seed Blue & Gold and #1 seed Meyers Meighan. Blue and Gold won the 
coin toss and was the home team. Meyers Meighan jumped out to a 6-1 
lead, but Blue and Gold clawed back and after 5 innings the score was 
Meyers Meighan 11, Blue & Gold 10. In the 6th, Meyers Meighan pushed 
across two more runs to extend their lead to 13-10. Blue and Gold 
then exploded for 5 and took their first lead of the game, 15-13. An 
exhausted Meyers Meighan could only manage one base runner in the top 
of the 7th and Blue and Gold held on to a 15-13 victory. The game 
ended at 11:00 pm.

My personal thanks to the umpire and to the Cabin John Parks 
personnel who kept the lights on until all the game were concluded.
